I have started making a distinction between "the church" and "the gospel." There's not exactly the same thing. I think there are many parts of "the church" that Jesus just doesn't care about. Does he really care if boys wear white shirts and ties on Sunday? What does that have to do with "the gospel"? Does he care if the three year-old Primary class is called Sunbeams? Does he care if we have Sacrament Meeting first? Does he even care if we meet for three hours?

I don't even think he cared if you were allowed to go home to see your grandfather before he died. I think that was something your mission president decided. At least in my mission it was. One of our APs got to go home because his father was really ill, he didn't die. Another Elder got to go home for his friend's funeral (the friend committed suicide). I, however, was not allowed to go home when my grandmother died. (My mother got to explain to all of our non-member relatives how I'm too busy serving a church that focuses on families, that I couldn't possibly focus on my own for a few days during my mission.)

Anyhow, I think I'm where you are with the church. I don't go. I don't really feel bad about it. I feel like church is irrelevant to my life. I just feel so out of place. I haven't been for like 8 years now.Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06453810842402496943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2026956209772634897.post-49222173508339326452013-12-01T06:12:25.391-08:002013-12-01T06:12:25.391-08:00Spot on! You've echoed my sentiments exactly.

Although you feel you are "old to be discovering [your] sexuality" just remember that, for some, it happens much later. You are still a young pup! haha
-JustinRexTremendaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12190270558257405755noreply@blogger.com
